Corn Drive
Friday, October 15, our chapter held its annual corn drive. The money is donated to Camp Courage to help disabled children. We collected 1,300 buschels of corn and profited $6,000 from that. This year, the group that collected the most corn consisted of Riley Brandt, Clay Mogard, and Logan Reid . They collected and astonishing 822 bushels of corn. We also raised over $1,000 in cash donations. Thank you to everybody who contributed! This is the most that the Sibley East FFA Chapter has rasied in recent memory.

State Fair Landscape Booth
Hey Everyone, We just got home from the "Great Minnesota Get Together" from putting up our FFA Landscape booth. It turned out well, and the FFA Members did a great job. 3 Members (Vinz Karl, Andrew Thies, and Christy Woehler) went along to help plant, design, and put together the display. The theme was edible landscape... Stop by and see the Sibley East "Backyard Buffet" at the Horticulture building across from the Haunted House!

Officer Retreat
Hey everybody! This is your reporter, Christy Woehler. We are at the "Nut House" down here in Elysian on Lake Francis. Seriously, thats whats its called, the Nut House. We came up here yesterday morning and got right to work on planning our events for this comming year and building relationshops with our fellow officers. After supper, we went over to a beach and played sand volleyball (which the girls won) and then went for a refreshing swim in the lake. When we got back to the cabin, we had a little fire and more bonding time! We woke up this morning to rain and thunder. Stay tuned for more updates :)

Garden is Growing!
The garden is off to a great start thanks to many FFA Members who have volunteered their time this summer to help plant, weed, and take care of the plants. We are hoping to have some produce ready for the first few weeks of school!

Garden Project
This summer FFA members and the Advisors will be growing a 1 acre garden of vegetables near the fair grounds in Arlington. The food grown will be harvested in the fall and used in the school cafeteria! The project is being funded by two grants received. One grant is from Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative and the other by the Minnesota Ag Education Leadership Council. So far the land has been tilled and potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers were planted yesterday!
Landscape Project Complete!
The 9th Grade Ag Students finished up their project just in the nick of time! Most students worked hard and should be pround of their accomplishment!
